Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) through the Secretary General Dr. Abbas Gullet handed over Medical Health equipment bought under the KRCS Global Fund Programme to the government of Kenya through the Ministry of Health and were received by the Cabinet Secretary Mr. James Macharia. .

KRCS has been facilitating, managing and coordinating the implementation of HIV and AIDS grants as the Principal Recipient for the Non State Actors. It is through this mandate that under the R10 grant, KRCS was tasked to procure health equipment to improve service delivery in areas of maternal, neonatal and child health care. The equipment were procured through the guidance and support from Department of Reproductive Health and National AIDS Control Programme and included: Emergency obstetric care equipment mainly for maternal and child health/family planning clinic and Maternity, nutritional assessment equipment as well as equipment for cervical cancer screening and treatment. 480 health facilities across 26 counties covering 50 districts will benefit from these equipment which will go a long way in improving the health of women and children in beneficiary areas..
